Comprehensive rehabilitation after injuries and surgeries

Traumatology, PRM and rehabilitation: Kyiv and online

This page is dedicated to comprehensive rehabilitation after injuries and surgeries, preoperative preparation and posture and gait biomechanics correction. The work is supervised by trauma surgeon and rehabilitation physician Yevhen Abramovych with over 20 years of experience in traumatology, PRM and rehabilitation, as well as a team of rehabilitation therapists, kinesiologists and yoga specialists.

Consultations are possible in person in Kyiv and online. Detailed information about medical experience, surgeries and approach is available on the doctor’s personal website abramovich.com.ua and on the page of the trauma surgeon in Kyiv neurologist.com.ua.

Who this rehabilitation program is for

After injuries and surgeries

Rehabilitation after fractures, joint and spine surgeries, arthroscopy, joint replacement, contusions and dislocations. It is important not only to heal the bone, but also to restore mobility, strength and confidence in your body.

A separate focus is joint mobilisation and rehabilitation after joint replacement (endoprosthesis) under the supervision of a trauma surgeon, using ultrasound of the joint and soft tissues to assess swelling, scar tissue and the condition of muscles and tendons around the implant.

We create a rehabilitation plan that takes into account the healing phase, load limitations, risk of complications and your daily activity. Rehabilitation includes postoperative follow-up, dynamic monitoring and patient management until return to usual activity.

Chronic pain and posture disorders

The program is suitable for people with chronic back, neck and joint pain, "tired back", scoliosis, posture and gait disorders, consequences of prolonged sitting work.

We work with biomechanics: how you stand, walk, sit, lift weight. Our goal is not only to relieve pain, but also to change movement patterns to reduce the risk of re-injury.

Preoperative preparation

Preoperative preparation helps you enter surgery in better condition: strengthen muscles, improve joint mobility, optimize weight and activity level. This reduces risks and makes the postoperative period easier.

We discuss the surgery plan, explain what to expect and prepare individual recommendations regarding movements, loads and recovery.

How rehabilitation is organised

Consultation with trauma surgeon and PRM doctor

During the first consultation, trauma surgeon and PRM doctor Yevhen Abramovych takes a detailed history, reviews your test results (MRI, X-ray, reports from other specialists), assesses risks and forms a rehabilitation prognosis.

If necessary, the consultation can be held online with document review and video call — this is convenient for patients from other cities and countries.

Posture and gait biomechanics assessment

We assess how you stand, walk, shift weight, how your feet, knees, pelvis and spine work together. This allows us to see which muscles are overloaded, which are underactive and where the body compensates for old injuries.

Based on this assessment, we choose individual exercises, manual techniques, orthoses or insoles (if needed) to correct biomechanics and reduce the load on problem areas.

Rehabilitation team and yoga with a rehabilitation specialist

The program may include sessions with a rehabilitation therapist, applied kinesiologist and yoga with a rehabilitation specialist. Yoga is led by certified trainer Tania Larina under medical supervision.

The practice is selected according to the stage of recovery, pain level, fitness and comorbidities so as not to overload joints and the cardiovascular system.

Online consultations and follow-up

When online consultation is appropriate

Online format is suitable if you don't live in Kyiv, are already being treated in another country or want to get a second opinion on the surgery or rehabilitation plan.

We can discuss your images and medical reports, suggest questions for your local doctors, create a preliminary recovery plan and give recommendations on safe activity.

How an online session works

Online consultation is conducted via Zoom, WhatsApp, Telegram or another convenient messenger. Before the meeting you send scans or photos of discharge summaries and test results and fill out a short questionnaire about your condition.

During the appointment we discuss your questions, explain what is happening in your body and talk about the next steps: which movements are safe, which loads to avoid, which tests may be useful.
